Lisbon Golf Passport Courses
Just 1 kilometre from the Palacio Hotel Estoril Golf Club was opened in 1929 and has hosted many international events including the Portuguese Open.Situated above Estoril and overlooking the sea Estoril Golf Club is 5800 yards long and although only a relatively short course it requires accuracy to work your way through the many Pine and Eucalyptus trees. The excellent clubhouse offers a relaxing atmosphere for an after round drink and light meal.
Belas club de Campo golf course is just a 20 minute drive from Lisbon and set in the mountains between Belas and Quelez. This par 72 18 hole championship course measure just over 6400 yards with several fairways and greens set in deep valleys providing superb views of the surrounding countryside. Belas has two signature holes with the 2nd a par 5 called Augusta in memory of the 13th hole and the 18th hole providing a memorable par 4 finish with a lake protecting the green.
Situated in an area half way between Cascais and Sintra, Quinta da Beloura is one of the more recent courses to be built on the Lisbon Golf Coast. The course opened in 1994 forming part of a residential development and runs along fairly flat ground. This ensures that the round is pleasurable and not exhausting. Quinta da Beloura has excellent views over the Sintra mountain range, measuring over 6,428 yards with a par of 72. More than 40,000 trees have been planted to create a stunning green landscape. With several lakes added it also help to create a varied and interesting backdrop. Quinta da Beloura provides a test where good course management is required.
